It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Roy Bennett, on November 4, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his wife by his side.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Effie (Reid) Bennett.
Roy was employed as a mechanic for 48 years, and worked for Kenmount Ford 37 years, until his retirement.
He enjoyed picking berries, wood working, and feeding the squirrels. Roy enjoyed life to the fullest and had a great sense of humour. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Pynn); sisters, Martha, Ann, Margie, Mae, Helen and Donalda; brother, James ‘Jim’ as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Liz; two sons, Roy and Len; sister, Regina ‘Jean’.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service.
