Donald Nevers
NEVERS, DONALD GUILFORD - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald G. Nevers at his home in Longs Creek, NB on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. He was born in Prince William, NB on September 25, 1926 to the late Main and Elsie (Sands) Nevers and was married to his loving wife, Shirley for 62 years. Donald was a veteran of WWII serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. After his service with the Navy, he took a career selling cars and trucks, retiring from Marhawk Truck and Trailer where he thoroughly enjoyed selling the “big trucks.” Donnie had many collections including guns, reels, fly rods and antiques. He loved cats and dogs as well as the outdoors which showed with his love for the Miramichi area, fishing, boating, hunting and ski-dooing, but most importantly he enjoyed his 1948 John Deere Tractor and in fact, anything related to John Deere. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Shirley (Osborne); his children, Eric Nevers (Sharon) of Fredericton, NB, David Nevers of Longs Creek, NB, Wendy Weeks of St. Stephen, NB, Laurey Chandia (Flinto) of Zambia, Africa, Peter Nevers of Longs Creek, NB and Nancy Nevers-Allen (Lance) of Upper Kingsclear, NB; grandchildren, Jason (Joanna), Julian, Joshua, Jennifer (Ryan), Jeffrey, Charles, Rory, Nicoli, Mumbi, Mwaba and Mwape as well as his great-grandchildren, Holli and Summer. He also leaves behind his brother, Willard Nevers of Longs Creek, NB as well as several special friends, nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Joyce Nevers.
Visitation will be held at the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will also take place at the church on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kendell McRae officiating. Interment will follow in the Kingsclear Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Donald’s honor may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
