George Wilson Gardner
The family of the late George Wilson Gardner, Sydney Mines, would like to express our sincere thanks to all who gave us such overwhelming support during our recent, sad bereavement. A special thank you to all who sent food to our homes; to those who made monetary and memorial donations, and to those who sent flowers; to those who phoned, visited our home and sent Mass and sympathy cards, we are truly appreciative. Thank you to the staff at Northside General ER; to the ambulance attendants; and also to the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital ER. A special thank you to Dr. Phillip Smith and Dr. R. Jhirad for their valiant efforts in trying to save Wilson’s life. A heartfelt thank you to Rev. Nick Phillips for the touching service and words of comfort. We also thank organist Paula Jane Francis and Carman United Choir for their beautiful music. Thank you to the UCW of Carman United Church for providing the lovely reception after the service. Also, many thanks to the pallbearers; Jimmy Gardner, Bobby Gardner, Eric Gardner, Steven Gardner, Derek Whalen and Jonathan Bennett – all nephews of Wilson. Thank you to sister, Judy Whalen, for the reading; to brother-in-law Allie Bennett for the beautiful violin selection; and to daughter Brenda for her touching words about her Dad. He would have been so proud. We also thank the many people who came to the visitation and funeral service. Your kind words and tributes were a great comfort to us, and reminded us that Wilson lived a good life. Many thanks to the co-workers, neighbours and family who travelled from afar to be with us. Lastly, to Manning Jobes and staff of J. M. Jobes Funeral Home for your compassion, professionalism and guidance during this most difficult time. To all who helped in any way, we thank you. Your kindness will always be remembered.
