It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roderick Cornect announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Thursday, December 1st, 2011 at the age of 85 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Madeline, 2 sons: Bernard (Stella) Cornect and Roger (Priscilla) Cornect, all of DeGrau, 2 daughters: Marian Cornect of DeGrau, Deborah Cornect (Lawrence Burke) of Nova Scotia, 7 step-daughters: Carolyn, Patricia, Irene, Elizabeth, Nancy, Joanna, Paula and 3 brothers: Maurice (Dot) of Nova Scotia, Robert of DeGrau, Leonard (Eileen) of DeGrau, 3 sisters: Riza Brownridge of British Columbia, Marina (Emmanuel) Simon and Claudia Cornect, all of Cape St. George, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Germaine Cornect, his first wife, Gladys, two sons, Gerald and Lawrence, sisters: Maisie and Hilda, brothers: Gordon, Jerry, Donald and Junior. Friends may call at Our Lady of the Cape Parish, Cape St. George on Sunday, December 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday, December 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, December 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Parish, Cape St. George with Cremation to follow. Private family Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Stephenville.
