Peacefully, with family at her side, our beloved Mom passed away on November 22, 2011 at Saanich Peninsula Extended Care unit. Mom was 80 years old and her health had slowly declined over the past year. In July we reluctantly moved Mom from her home in Dawson Creek to be close to us on Vancouver Island.
She bravely adapted to her new surroundings but said she missed Dawson Creek “always”. Our Mom can be remembered for her ballet school, involvement with Girl Guides, the United Church and many other community groups. We are sure many of you will remember her generous nature, huge heart and ability to make friends with anyone.
Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Robert Andrew Petrick on May 24, 1997 and her parents Art and Betty Dyer. She will be missed deeply by her children, Dan (Wendy) Petrick, Terry Petrick, Brent (Theresa) Petrick, Linda (Steve) Lewis and Trina (Frank) Sims and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sister Dorothy Condie and her brother Edward (Cathy) Dyer, her nephews Rock (Angie) Petrick, Lee, Tom and Robbie, her nieces Kim, Gail, Wendy, Debbie, Brenda, Shery and Kim, her great nieces and nephews and many extended family members and friends. You were our sunshine Grandma.
A celebration of her life will be held in July in Dawson Creek when we bring Mom home to rest beside Dad with oceans of love and a kiss on every wave.
