ALLAN, Catherine (Kay) Theresa (nee Costigan)– Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on December 2, 2011, at the age of 84 years. Kay attended Mount St. Vincent University, graduating in 1948. She was a long time librarian at Brother Rice High School and a volunteer with St. Bon’s College and the Catholic Women’s League. Predeceased by her husband Bill, parents Rivlyn and Lillian Costigan of Bell Island, brother Richard, and uncle Monsignor Pat Kennedy. Leaving to mourn four children: Bill (Peggy) of Corner Brook, Peggy (Brad) Armstrong of Hinton, AB, Patsy (Lorne) Deering of Antigonish, NS, and Gerry (Margie) of St. John’s; 14 grandchildren: Bill, Mark, Catherine, Marion, Jonathan, Naomi, Gemma, Emily, Connor, Stephen, Joseph, Kathleen, Patricia and Michael, and special sister-in-law Marjorie Corbett; as well as a large circle of friends, especially her bridge friends. Special thanks to caregivers Bernie, Ruby and Shirley and Drs. Tompkins, O’Dea, and Greenland, staff of Ambulatory Treatment Program and VON nurse Natalie. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday and Monday 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church with interment to follow at Belvedere Cemetery.
