BURT, Oliver Herbert – of Fairbanks, New World Island, N.L., September 28, 1937 to December 2, 2011, age 74 years, passed away peacefully on December 2 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander. Oliver worked for Abitibi for 30 years. He owned and operated (along with his son, Dave) Burt’s Forest Improvements at Bear River, N,S, for 13 years. He was predeceased by parents Adolphus and Lucy Burt; sisters Florence, Jessie and Violet; bothers Harvey & Hedley. Left to mourn are wife, Mary; sons David (Sherry), Brad (Sabine), Rick (Elizabeth) and Peter (Lynn); daughters Gloria (Lawrence) and Mottie (Perry); sister Marie Gidge and brother Aubrey Burt; 19 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a very large circle of other family and friends. Lieuts. Chris and Tonia Street officiated at the funeral service at the Eastside Citadel, Fairbanks on Tuesday, December 6th. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetary, Fairbanks. Funeral arrangements were intrusted to the New World Island Funeral Home, Summerford, N.L.
