McLAUGHLIN, DAVID GEORGE - David G. McLaughlin of Staples Settlement, NB passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on December 11, 2011. Born at Grand Falls, NB in 1938, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Canam) McLaughlin. David had a great love for the land, fishing, hunting, spending time at his camp in Renous and making maple syrup on his farm. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was special to David. David is survived by his wife, Judy (Cronkhite) McLaughlin; a daughter, Kelly Dabrowski (Kenneth), Nashua, NH; a son, Michael McLaughlin, Lakeside Corner, NB; two step-sons, Thomas VanWagoner (April), St. Stephen, NB and Alan VanWagoner (Tabatha), Nackawic, NB; two grandchildren, Charlie and Stella Dabrowski; three step-grandchildren, Angus, Mackenzie and Caevyn VanWagoner; four sisters, Janice Kitchen (Darrell), Patricia Bridges, both of Fredericton, NB, Linda Scott, Grand Prairie, AB and Diane Shannon (Mike), Mazerolle Settlement, NB; several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Kirk United Church, Nackawic, NB with Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment at Staples Settlement Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nieces, Deborah Banks, Jennifer Gregan, Stephanie Kitchen and Ashlee Shannon.
