Velma Charlotte (Landry) Hubley, 82, Halifax, passed away Dec. 14, 2011, in Halifax.
She was born in Sydney, to the late Annie Jane and Simon Landry.
She is survived by husband of 57 years, Cyril; sister, Marion (Al); brothers, Frank (Anne) and Ebbie (Ann); children, Sharon (late Gary), Kenneth (Dawn), Douglas (Wilma), Everett (Trudy) and Charlotte (Darren). Also, surviving her are grandchildren, Tyler (Jaclyn), Jodi (Chris), Kimberley, Kyle, Laura (Dustin), Alanna, Vicki (Jeff), Jeff, Jacqueline, Gary, Cameron and Alicia. She has three great-granddaughters, Ava, Mya, Haylee and a great-grandson due in the New Year.
Velma was predeceased by infant brother, Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Susan and grandson, Devin.
Velma was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Spryfield.
Arrangements are under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held today, Saturday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s United Church, Rev. Jeanne Manning Stright officiating; reception to follow. Burial will take place at a later date.
