David Sinclair Cameron, 89, MacLellans Brook, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Port Hood, he was a son of the late Fredwin Harrison and Viola Lexie (MacKenzie) Cameron. He resided in Trenton for many years before moving to McLellans Brook. He served with the Pictou Highlanders during the Second World War and following the War was employed as a welder at the former Hawker Siddeley, Trenton until retirement. He was a devoted member of New Life Pentecostal Church, Stellarton and had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. David enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. He possessed a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humour. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Beatrice A. (Smith) Cameron; daughters, Sheila (Wayne) Grosvold, Aylmer, Ont.; Charlotte (Kenneth) Arbeau, Plaster Rock, N.B.; son, Paul (Anne) Cameron, Berwick; sister, Cora Guest, Port Hood; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Roy; sisters, Edna Boucher and Jean Gratto.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Vincent Hanley officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
