Murray Littler
Murray Littler, 80 of Pictou, passed away peacefully, December 22, 2011 surrounded by his family at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Richard and Bessie (Pennington) Littler.
Murray’s career as a truck driver spanned some fifty years. It was an endless source of travelling, making friends and the creation of numerous colourful stories.
He will be sadly missed by his partner of 18 years, Mary Spence; daughters, Cindy (Bayne) Barkhouse; Debbie Parsons; June (Don) Hill; and Melody (Darrell) Fraser, all of Pictou; sons: John (Lori); Murray (Cindy); both of Parry Sound, Ontario; Robert (Valma), Pictou; and Charles Richard, Florida. Murray is also survived by 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Art (Margie), Glace Bay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his former wife, Mary Louise; daughter, Deborah Jean Milley; sisters: Mae, Marium, Evelyn and Bessie; brother, John. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. only Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
