GALLANT, ZELMA - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Zelma Gallant, 88, of O'Bons Soins Residence, Shediac on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 with her family by her side at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital University Centre, Moncton following a brief illness. Born November 28th, 1923 in Cap-Pelé, Zelma was the daughter of the late Fred and Justine (Boudreau) LeBlanc. Zelma resided in Grand-Barachois until moving to O'Bons Soins Residence in Shediac in December 2008. She is survived by eight daughters: Jeanne Cormier (Laurie) of Cap-Pelé, Norma Gaudet (Joe), Florida Léger (Normand) and Paulette Landry (Roland) all of Grand-Barachois, Helene Disley (David) of Kitchener, ON, Claudette Léger (Jean LeBlanc) and Pauline Gallant both of Shediac and Linda Cormier (Tommy LeBlanc) of Moncton; four sons: Gérard (Judy Beamish) of Grand-Barachois, Azor of Shediac, Edgar (Roberta Duguay) and Guy (Dawn Whynach) both of Cormier Village; three brothers: Henri LeBlanc (Jeannine) and Rodolphe LeBlanc both of Cap-Pelé, Arthur LeBlanc of Five Islands, N.S.; 28 grandchildren: Donna, Angela, Darlene, Chrissy, Ricky, Penny Lee, Raymond, Éric, Brigitte, Brian, Pierre, Martin, Luc, Jaclyn, Jennifer, Kimberly, Jean-Marc, Suzie, Melissa, Joey, Jeffrey, Kevin, Brian, Marissa, Brayden, Brady, Travis and Denis; 33 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and by several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her husband Alphonse Gallant (1975), one son Normand (1979), one daughter Marie Mai Gaudet (1997), three grandsons: Bobby Disley (1976), Sylvain Gallant (1995) and Danny Léger (2000), two sisters: Annie Cormier and Edmée Richard; four brothers: Robert, François, Adrice and Ulysse LeBlanc and by two sons-in-law: Gilles Cormier (1977) and René Léger.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Wednesday, December 28th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, December 29th, from 9 a.m. until time of departure. The funeral mass will be held at Saint-Henri Roman Catholic Church, Grand-Barachois on Thursday, December 29th, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery in the spring. www.frenettefuneralhome.com
