Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011, Katherine Mary (Kitty) Breen in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband, Peter Sr. in 1988, and her son Peter Jr. in 2009. Kitty was also predeceased by her parents, James and Anna Bassett, her sisters: Marion Bassett, Dorothea Bailey, Mary (Peter) Molloy, her brother James (Claudine), and her nephew David Bassett. Leaving to mourn her sons: Kevin (Cathy), John (Eleanor), Noel (Patsy), Danny (Ann), Wilf Casey (Betty); her daughters: Judy (Arnie Furlong), Mary (Randy Purchase); her daughter-in-law Janet; her sister, Anna Bassett; her cousin, Mary Squires; her brother-in-law Don Bailey; her nineteen grandchildren: Kevin (Gina), Chris (Emma), Erin (Marcel Levandier), Cathy (Warren Norris), Kelly (Mark Hiscock), Seamus (Erin), Tara (Brian Power), Michael Furlong, Alice, Laura (Mark Sampson), Susan, Shannon, Janet Marie, Noelle, Andrew, Erika (Tony Hearn), Katie, Sean Casey (Deanne), Tina (Alex Daziel); her thirteen great-grandchildren, her four nieces, Elizabeth (Pat Dempsey), Mary Lou (Rod Hall), Dot (Craig MacLaughlan), Cathy (Ian Steer), and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 30th, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at the R. C. Cemetery, Torbay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kitty’s memory to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home.
