Mienhart Witte of Kamloops, BC, went home with the angels, December 27, 2011.

Born Meinhardt Erwin Witte on January 18, 1934 on the family homestead near Belbutte, Saskatchewan, Mienhart was predeceased by his second wife, June Witte (2008), parents Ted and Martha Witte, nephew Kevin Ballachay and step son Lyle Mackenzie (1991).

Mienhart is survived by his daughters, Julie (Jamie) of Edmonton, AB and Vanessa (Mike) of Wildwood, AB. Step children, Terry (Merv) of Barriere, BC, Les (Wanda) of Salmon Arm, BC and Sherri of Edmonton, AB. Also step daughter-in-law, Shelley of Clearwater, BC. His sisters, Evelyn of Saskatoon, SK, Irma (Michael) of Drumheller, AB and Ruth (George) of Warman, SK and his brother, Rudy (Edna) of Edmonton, AB. Brothers-in-law Gerry (Rochelle) of Baynes Lake, BC, Bill (Diane) of Kamloops, BC and Rod of Rocky Mountain House, AB. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory, Ada Mackenzie of Barriere, BC, affectionately known as "Granny", and his companion Viola Simpson.

Mienhart was an avid gardener, woodworker, photographer and cook. He made friends quickly and easily leaving many to treasure years of friendship with him.

A Memorial Service for Meinhardt Witte will take place at the Pentecostal Church, 4818 Annesty Road, Barriere, BC, on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with Lloyd Strickland officiating. Graveside interment to follow immediately at Barriere Memorial Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Meinhardt Witte to the Renal Unit at Royal Inland Hospital, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2T1 would be appreciated.
