John Alfred Beaton, 73, of Sydney Mines, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, in the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Windsor, Essex County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Margaet (Jackson) Beaton.
He was a member of Trinity Anglican Church Sydney Mines and was a caretaker of Leitches Creek Cemetery.
John enjoyed gardening, he also liked playing his lotto numbers, loved to dance and also loved animals.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn LeDrew; sister, Marilyn (Rob) Wilson, Calgary, Alta.; brother, Robert, Sydney. Also survived by best friend, ‘Ducky’ MacLeod and by many aunts and uncles, necies and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Burial at later date in Leitches Creek Cemetery
