CASTEEL: Jeanne Cecile Casteel, age 81 of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, passed away on December 26, 2011 at the Swift Current Care Centre. The Memorial Service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011, from Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church, Swift Current, SK, with Father James Owolagba officiating. The organist was Yolande Gorrill and soloist was Peggy Marshall. The Readers were Bonnie Petrie and Florence Delorme and the eulogist was Sylvia Cote. The ushers were Gerry Bergeron and Annette Pryce. Honorary pallbearers were: David Cote, Michael Delorme, Donald Delorme, Pat Petrie, Mark Cote and Lise Rozell. The interment service followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Jeanne is survived by daughter Melanie Casteel and granddaughter Aries-Leigh Casteel; a son Martin Casteel; two sisters Florence Delorme and Vivian Petrie; a brother Jacques (Jim) Cote and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Leo & Alice Cote; a son Trent Casteel; twin sons Daniel & Andrew Casteel; a sister Louise Bergeron; three brothers: Robert Cote, Henry Cote and Gilbert Cote. Jeanne was born at Scout Lake, SK, November 10, 1930. She attended school at Scout Lake, the Lefleche Convent, Vanier Collegiate, St. Louis Collegiate. Jeanne married Mervin Casteel June 3, 1963. She was employed at the Co-op in Assiniboia, Canada Post in Waldeck, SK, as a home care aid in Swift Current, special care aid at Ross Payant Nursing home in Assiniboia and the Family life insurance office in Saint Victor. She was a member of the Waldeck ookpiks square dancing club, the Waldeck Golden Age club and served on the Waldeck school board. Her special interests were square dancing, gardening, cooking, crafts, sewing and reading. Memorial donations in her memory to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, would be appreciated by the family. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
