The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 of Beatrice Gallant of Tignish Senior Home and formerly of Nail Pond aged 88 years. Wife of the late Aubin Gallant. Beatrice was born in Nail Pond on Nov. 4, 1923, daughter of the late John P. and Emelie (Richardson) Doucette. She is survived by the following sons and daughters Milda Perry, Dartmouth, N.S.; Lorraine (Carl) Hudson, Nail Pond; Leonard Gallant, B.C.; Marian (Mike) Coulombe, Dartmouth, N.S.; Emily Gallant (Gerard), Nail Pond; Marlene (Ian) LeClair, Ascension; Barry (Rhonda) Gallant, Nail Pond and Angela (Martin) Nauta, Ont. Loving grandmother of Junior, Linda, Phyllis, Raymond, Pamela, Joey, Leanne, Raymond, Ronald, Rick, Sylvia, Michael, Melanie, Kelsey, Jason, Sabrina, Alex, Francine, Valerie, Christeena and Lucas as well as 11 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Elaine Bernard (Billy), Tignish; Albert (Denise) Doucette, Hamilton, Ont.; Herbert Doucette, Maplewood Manor, Alberton and sister-in-law of Violet Doucette, Victoria, B.C. and Aldona Doucette, Nail Pond. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Emelie, husband Aubin, daughter Irene, brothers Gilbert, Phil, Melvin, Camille, Ernest and Eugene. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Rd. for visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Saturday from 9-9:45 a.m. Funeral will be held Saturday at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations to Community or Western Hospitals Equipment Fund or Tignish Senior Home would be greatly appreciated. Members of the Tignish CWL will hold a prayer service Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
