Rose, age 88, peacefully passed away at the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre, Saskatoon, SK on Thursday, January 12, 2012 to be with the Lord, her one and only. Rose is survived by her brother, Frank (Marie); and her many nieces and nephews, the children of Herman and Frank. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Marianna; and brother, Herman (Hazel). Rose was born in Bruckenau, Romania where she spent her early life. At the age of 20 she transferred to work at the hospital during WWII with the Nuns in Iserlohn, Westfalen, West Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1948 and entered the Ursuline order of Sisters in Vibank, SK. Rose served in Vibank, SK, Chatham, ON and Edmonton, AB. She moved to Moose Jaw, SK in 1971 to be with her mom and dad. Rose worked at the Valley View Centre for the Handicapped until her retirement in 1988. Rose was a longtime, active member of the Church of Our Lady and a member of the CWL. She moved to Saskatoon in 2007 to reside close to her brother Frank because of ailing health. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed feeding her birds. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of Our Lady of The Blessed Sacrament, 566 Vaughan Street, Moose Jaw, SK, with Rev. Fr. Carlos Jimenez, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in the Remco Sunset Cemetery. Memorial donations in Rose’s honour may be made to the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre, 2200 St. Henry Street, Saskatoon, SK, S7M 0P5.
