Florida Cormier
CORMIER, FLORIDA - Florida Cormier, 85, of Cap Pele wife of the late Alban Cormier passed away, with her family by her side, on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at her residence la Manoir de la Butte, Cap Pele. Born May 9, 1926 in Despres Village, she was the daughter of the late Nazaire and Madeleine (Savoie) Despres. She enjoyed knitting for charity, bowling, playing bingo and cards. She will be greatly missed by her four daughters: Bernice Cormier (Charles Omer), Yvette McEwan, Rita Richard (Laurie) all of Cap-Pele, Louisa Ouellette (Daniel Sirois) of Petit Cap; four sons: Leo-Paul (Lorette), Emery (Anise) of Cap-Pele, Roger (Loretta) of Grand-Barachois, Aubrey (Angie) of P.E.I.; a sister: Lucie (Fred) Hamilton of Toronto; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and by many nephews and nieces. Besides her husband Alban (1995), she is also predeceased by three brothers: Albert, Fred and Alvin”Jack” Despres; three sisters: Rose-Anne, Ozina and Leonore; granddaughter Véronique; and son-in-law Gérard Ouellette.
Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Monday, January 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. only. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé on Tuesday, January 17, 2011 at 10;30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
