McTIERNAN, Sean Patrick, Shelburne, born on September 14, 1980, formerly a resident of New Glasgow, passed away on January 15, 2012 as a result of his ongoing battle with cancer. Sean was a loving husband, a devoted son, a supportive brother and a beloved boss. He was described as being selfless, kind and caring. Sean was the manager of the local Sobeys and was very popular with his employees who have referred to him as “the best boss we’ve ever had”. Sean was also a member of the Shelburne Volunteer Fire Department. Sean collected comic books and enjoyed playing games, but his favourite pastime was spending time with his beautiful wife, his pet, his family and his many friends. He will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Jillian Jurcina; mother Jaqualine Shelby-McTiernan; father, Thomas McTiernan and step-mother, Diane Morris; sister Jill McTiernan; in-laws, John and Murdina Jurcina; brothers-in-law, Andrew Jurcina and Ian Gouthro; sister in-law, Erin Gouthro; nephews, Deven, Ethan and Lochlan Gouthro, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, best friend, Aaron Fisher and faithful companion, his dog, Lois Lane. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 20 in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Chapel, Shelburne, with Pastor Wayne Dooks officiating. Interment at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the V.O.N.
