Albert Arseneau
The death of Albert Arseneau, age 98, of River Hebert occurred peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on Friday, January 20, 2012.
Born in River Hebert he was a son of the late Alex and Margaret (Melanson) Arseneau.
A coal miner by trade he as well operated a saw mill and did local trucking. Albert loved horses which he owned and raced. An avid gardener he had his own garden in 2011 and prepared the land for the 2012 season. A carpenter, he built several homes in the area. Albert will be sadly missed by daughters, Anne Arsenault (Eddie), Carolyn Wilson (Richard), Ruth Poplar and Cathy Arseneau all of River Hebert, NS; sons, Gornall (Lisette) of Moncton, Reginald (Linda) of Dieppe, NB; sisters, Dorothy Berry, River Hebert and Delphine Hachey Ontario; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren
He was predeceased by his wife the former Erma Burbine in 2011 a sister Mary Fowler and brother Leon LeBlanc.Albert's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert (251-2877) from where visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from the St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert on Tuesday, January 24 at 11 am. Burial in the St. Denis Cemetery, Minudie. www.furlongjones.ca
