Norbert Leo Georget, born June 24th, 1963, passed away January 24th, 2012, from a stroke at the age of 48 years. A Celebration of Norbert’s Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27th, 2012 at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St., first right past Briargate Road. Valet parking available.) Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28th, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Jeanne d’Arc Roman Catholic Church in Domremy, Saskatchewan. Interment of Cremated Remains will take place in his father’s plot in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Norbert is survived by his mother, Marie of Domremy; two brothers, Claude (Karen) and their children Nicole and Derek, all of Saskatoon, and Allan (Paulette) of Spirit River, Alberta and their children Joel (Jasmine) and children Ankaret and Kaitlin of Nelson, BC and Renelle (Luis Iglesias) and Aimee of Ottawa, Ontario; special cousins Janice and Louise Marcotte; special family of Matt Roy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his father Oliva in 1981 and his grandparents. He was raised in Domremy. Norbert attracted audiences of thousands. His Smart Youth Power Assembly has been delivered to over 1.8 million students in two thousand public schools throughout Canada and the USA. With over 27 years of experience, he was an internationally renowned speaker, student motivator, author, and paramedic. He spoke about drinking and driving, texting and driving accidents, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying, suicide, and numerous other teen issues. His other accomplishments included:
*authoring the book No-Nonsense Parenting for Today’s Teenager
*co-founder of the SADD program in Saskatchewan
*worked as an EMT with MD Ambulance Care Ltd. and then became one of Saskatoon’s first Paramedics in 1986
*member of the Canadian Ski patrol, and instructor
*actively involved in his own business developments
*he enjoyed skiing, waterskiing, golfing, travelling, spending summers at Domremy Beach, and being a “COOL” uncle.
In his service to people and during the past year, Norbert started his retirement job as a Para Funeral Attendant with Hillcrest Funeral Home.
