Peacefully at home, on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, of Douglas A. MacKay of Gillespie Ave., Summerside, and formerly of Calgary, Alta., aged 61 years. Born in Summerside on Dec. 29, 1950, son of the late Hollis and Bertha (Lamont) MacKay of French River. Husband of Judy E. (Slaunwhite) MacKay. Father of Mark (Carmen) Vazquez-MacKay, Josh (Jill) MacKay and Amanda MacKay, all of Calgary. Grandfather to Isaac, Antonio and Noah. Brother of Dale (Carolyn) MacKay, Glen (Barb) MacKay, Valerie (Les) Oakes, Paul MacKay, Kent (Angelia) MacKay, Jennifer (Ron) Murphy, Jacqueline MacKay, Chris (Janie) MacKay and Clark (Karen) MacKay. Stepson-in-law of Ronald Grant. Son-in-law of Grace (Horne) Slaunwhite (late Reginald William). Brother-in-law of David (Suzanne) Slaunwhite, Robert (Karen) Slaunwhite, Ronald (Denise) Slaunwhite. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Monday in St. Thomas Anglican Church, Spring Brook, at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
