NELSON – Carl Alfred It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Carl Nelson on January 23, 2012. He is already missed dearly by his wife of 62 ½ years, Marjorie. His is missed and survived by his 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by; daughter Elaine (Wally) Prang and children, Lisa (Renny) Grilz, Salix, Jonathan and Linnaea; Kurtis (Christine) Prang: Graham and Adam; Colin (Erin) Prang; Asher and Freya; daughter Lynne (Wayne) Burton and children Waylyn (Jennifer) Burton, Carter and Reece, Kandice (Robin) Tomaz and Ben Ham; son Randy (Lorraine) Nelson and children; Dana, Janna and Darren Nelson; son Arle (Debbie) Nelson and children; Joree and Chase Nelson; brothers Jack (Janie) Nelson, Gary (Karen) Nelson; sisters Lottie Trew, Josie Trew and Sandra Kaytor and several nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his mother and father, infant daughter Clara Jane and sister Jean Trew. He will be missed by several dear friends from Square dancing, Norwegian Whist card players, coffee friends, ect… A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Olaf Lutheran Church. A eulogy was given by his son Randy Nelson and the ushers were Robert Berge and Roger Berge. The honorary pallbearers were: Don Cave, Bernie Christianson, Ivan Muri, Ron Deobald, Vernon Berge, John Trew and Orville Stormyr. The active pallbearers were grandchildren: Kurtis Prang, Colin Prang, Waylyn Burton, Darren Nelson, Joree Nelson and Chance Nelson. The interment took place at the Spring Valley Cemetery, Hallonquist, SK. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Diabetes Association in memory of Carl.
