Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: February 29th, 2012
We regret to announce the passing of Jack Goode on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home. He went peacefully with his loving wife Joan at his side.
He is survived by a very caring family who were all so dear to him. His two daughters and sons in-law - Joanne & Albert Smiley of Kamloops and Bernice & Chuck Robertson of Kelowna and his very precious grandchildren - Kayla, Alyssa and Kyle. Also his brother Bob Goode of Kamloops and his brother-in-law Bill Ramsay and his wife Margaret of Oliver and his five nieces and nephew.
Jack was predeceased by his brother- in-law Allan Ramsay and two nephews, Tate Goode and "little" Allan Ramsay.
Jack was born in Cloverdale, B.C. and lived in Westwold for 59 years, working as a storekeeper and school bus driver. For 23 years he was active in the logging industry. Fishing, hunting and camping were his favourite pastimes and his trip to Alaska was a highlight in his life. In 2002, he moved to Kamloops to be closer to medical facilities. After 18 years of living with cancer, he lost his fighting spirit.
May he rest in peace.
As per his wishes, there will be no formal service. If you so desire, donations in Jack's memory can be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, B.C., V2E 2S9.
Our sincere appreciation to the Kamloops Cancer Clinic, Doctor Peter Gorman, Community Health Care Nurses and workers, friends and neighbours in Curlew Gardens, and especially to the staff at the Kamloops Hospice Home who go "above and beyond" with their care and comfort to patients and family. God Bless!
