Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 31, 2012, Mrs. Anastasia Haggerty, age 100 years of St. Alban’s. Leaving to mourn her loving family: daughters, Mary Long at St. Alban’s and Elizabeth Caines (Adelor) at Port aux Choix; sons, Samuel (Marie), Richard, and Harry (Jean) all at St. Alban’s; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild plus a large number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Leonard; son in law, Gordon; parents, Agnes and Richard Willcott; sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, and Veronica; brothers, Ambrose and Alphonsus.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 11:00 am from St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in St. Alban’s with Father Edward Brophy officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Alban’s.
