SUNNY ANDERSON July 16, 1910 - December 15, 2006 Sunny (Berthe) Anderson passed away peacefully Friday morning on December 15, 2006. She was born in Lyon, France on July 16, 1910 and later moved throughout much of Europe including London and Paris in her everlasting job as a governess, teacher and caregiver. Although her last official job as a governess was in 1945 she would continue to care for and teach many people. She met and married Jim in London, England during World War II and came to Canada as a war bride landing in Halifax in 1946. She spent her early years in Canada living in a tent and later a 1 room log cabin that also doubled as a schoolroom and cookhouse while developing her homestead (she fondly called Candy Valley) near Tunkwa Lake. Sunny was an active member of the Savona community where she was involved in the Women's Auxiliary and Parent Teacher associations and made many friends. She was an artist and crafter who started the Savona Hobnobs 4-H club and ran her souvenir shop, the 3'S on the Tunkwa Lake Road from 1972-1995. All those who knew Sunny were familiar with her friendly, generous nature, sunny disposition and kind heart (the coffee pot was always on). Sunny was predeceased by husband Jim and leaves two sons; Mike (Susan), Ray (Bobbi), four grandchildren; Derek (Tara), Kevin, Nicole and Michelle, three great grandchildren; Elizabeth, Jonathon, Damian and extended family including Mike E, Doug and Cathy. She will be missed by all. Your knowledge and presence will be with us always Grandma. The family would like to thanks all those at Pine Grove who cared for her. A memorial service will be held in the Savona Community Hall on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. Donations to the Savona Food Bank in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
