Mark Doucet, 46, formerly of Grand Etang, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cheticamp, Mark was the only son of Wilfred and Bertha (Chiasson) Doucet.
Mark was a member of St. Joseph parish, Saint Joseph du Moine. He lived in Toronto for 20 years and was employed at York University. Music was his life, for Mark was a well known musician, song writer and producer. Mark will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially his parents, Wilfred and Bertha.
Besides his parents, Mark is survived by his special friend, Lorena Petterocia whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark was predeceased by his grandparents.
Visitation and memorial mass to celebrate the life of the late Mark Doucet will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Saint Joseph du Moine on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. with memorial mass to follow with Fr. Daniel Deveau officiating. Interment will take place in parish cemetery.
Family flowers only, donations in memory of Mark may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cape Breton Regional Hospital, C.C.U., for the love and care given to their son, Mark during his time of need.
