It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Isobel Mary MacDonald on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.
Born in Ingonish Ferry, she was the daughter of the late Annabelle and Malcolm MacKinnon.
Isobel was predeceased by her husband, Fred MacDonald.
She is survived by her sister, Grace Nicholson; brother, Bob MacKinnon; children, Hartley (Susan), New Glasgow, Jane Kennedy, Ingonish, Ishbel (Nick Dearman), Dartmouth and Richard, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Meghan, Elizabeth, Sara, Michelle, Craig and David; great-grandchildren, Fletcher, Hudson, Harrison and Lochlan.
She was known for her role as a public health nurse North of Smokey. She was very well-known to all and will be truly missed.
Isobel loved to garden and treasured her many friends.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
No flowers at the request of the family. Memorials may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.

What always is forefront in my mind that she was a really great baker and she always enjoyed sharing it - the last time I was in her house, Christmas two years ago, she had a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen, we were treated to some really good cookies!
