Marvin passed away peacefully at Christenson Village in Gibsons on February 6, 2012. He will be missed by his wife Peggy, his daughters Thelma Tait (Bob) and Fran Gamache (Rick) and his grandchildren Janna, Michael and Randy, his brother Harold, sister-in-law Ruby, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son John.
Marvin was born and raised on a farm in southern Saskatchewan. He left Saskatchewan in the late ‘30s to work at Pioneer Gold Mines and then began logging in Gibsons, doing all jobs from setting chokers to high rigging, always loving hard physical labour. It was here he met Peggy, to whom he has been married 65 years.
Many kind thanks to Dr. Reznick and the staff at Christenson Village for their diligence, caring and support to Marvin and the family. Thanks too, to Dr. Burlin in previous years.
There will be a service for Marvin at Christenson Village on Sunday, February 12, at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Christenson Village.
