BONNELL, ELIZABETH McKECHNIE - The death of Elizabeth Bonnell of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Eric R. Bonnell, occurred on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Turnbull Nursing Home. Born on January 23, 1913 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Pauline (McKechnie) Moore. Elizabeth was a past member of the IODE Lady Moira Ponsenby Chapter, a member of Westfield Golf and Country Club, St. Andrew’s Curling Club, the Union Club and the Church of St. Andrew and St. David. She assisted with Meals-On-Wheels for several years. Elizabeth was on the Board of Directors for the Turnbull Nursing Home and the YWCA Camp Committee. She is survived by her niece, Becky Trueman of Vancouver; she will be greatly missed as a special grandmother to Stephanie Hanna, Deborah Sheridan and Matthew White all of Vancouver. Elizabeth is also survived by several other nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Guiton and Norma Trueman; two brothers, John Moore and Hawley Moore.
In keeping with family’s wishes, a private committal service will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the Community Food Basket.
