ROBICHAUD, MATHILDA (DOUCET) - 1940 - 2012 - Moncton, NB - Marie Mathilda Thérèse (Doucet) Robichaud, age 71, of Moncton passed away quietly at the Moncton Hospital on February 8th after a brief illness. Born in Baie Sainte Anne, NB, she was the daughter of John [Jack] and Yvonne (Turbide) Doucet, predeceased by her devoted husband, Albert, and had spent most of her years lovingly caring for her children and family, serving at her local church’s community center, and generously giving of herself to help others. She is survived by her mother, Yvonne Doucet; three daughters, Mrs. Ivan Collier (Liette) of Colpitts Settlement, Mrs. Mike Groundwater (Janice) of Moncton, and Mrs. Robert Wheatley (Josette) of Baltimore; three sons, Paul, of Newfoundland, Guy, of Monteagle, and Gaston, of Moncton; three sisters, Mrs. Omer Giroux (Marita) of Charlo, Mrs. Lucien Martin (Zella) and Mrs. Gilles Schofield (Francine), both of Baie Sainte Anne; eight brothers, Alphonse (Rose-Mai), Évé (Rolande), Maxime (Darlene), Albain (Colette), Vernon (Rosa), Julien (Carmelle), and Bernie (Blanche), all of Baie Sainte Anne, and Thomas (Chantal), of Moncton; a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Amanda (David), Shannon (Daniel), Gary, Karyn (Yvan), and Anthony; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Braeden, Jakob, Isaiah, and Benjamin; and several dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, John, her husband, Albert, and brothers, John, Jr., as well as three others in infancy.
As per her request, there will not be public visitation offered but a private gathering of immediate family will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, on Friday, February 10th, from 7 to 9pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 11th, at 10:30 am, at Notre Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church, 99 Murphy St, Moncton, followed by a reception at the adjoining Père Patrice LeBlanc Centre. Mathilda will rest beside her husband, Albert, in the Niche at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made in her honour to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice.
