James Robert “Jim” Parker - 58, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife and soul mate, Terry, on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of Lawrence and Virginia (Pemberton) Parker, Medford. He attended Cornwallis District High School and later received licensing as a mechanic. He had been employed with Fairley and Stevens, Milne’s, Canadian Tire in Greenwood, Bonnyman’s and most recently, in the sales department of Green Diamond Equipment. He was most proud to work alongside his father as they formed L. & J. Parker Equipment and had the opportunity to travel throughout Canada and the United States. He made many wonderful friends during his working career. He enjoyed drag racing and raced his Mustang throughout the Maritimes. Jim had a passion for motorcycles and especially enjoyed restoring old cars. He is survived by his wife, Terry Stevens; his daughter, Tanya (Mark) Neary, Mt. Uniacke and her mother, Judy Parker, Medford; a sister, Diane (Joel) Stirling, Moncton; two brothers, Jack (Brenda), Kingsport; Don (Donna MacAdams), Medford; three step-children, Janice (Sean) Anderson, Aurora, Ontario; Nicole Treleaven, Hantsport; Rick Treleaven, Musquodoboit; two grandchildren, Madeline and Benjamin Neary; two step-grandchildren, Ava and Cole Anderson; an uncle, Bernard Parker, Kingsport; two nephews, Logan Parker and Jason Stirling. He was predeceased by a daughter, Candice; a brother, David. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012, Reverend Doctor Mark Parent officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Habitant Cemetery, Kings County. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Porter and his staff at the V.G. Hospital, the Hants County Palliative Care Program and the Victorian Order of Nurses. A special thank you to Christina Sheppard for your care, kindness and compassion.
