Mary Lillian Catherine “Kay” Buote, 85, of Pictou, passed away February 9, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.
Born in Duvar, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Emily (Wedge) Pineau.
A member of Stella Maris Parish, Pictou, Kay was also a former member of the Catholic Women’s League. She had been a resident of Strathcona Place for eight years and will be remembered for her love of family and her great sense of humour.
Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne (Wayne) Bezanson, Pictou; son, Keith, Toronto; grandchildren: Jason and Kevin, Pictou; Danielle (Kris), Toronto; Brent, Ottawa and Ryan, Calgary; sisters, Ruth Ryan, Pictou; Linda (George) MacPhail, Elmsdale; brother, Frank (Dorothy) Pineau, Ottawa; daughter-in-law, Barb, Ottawa; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ben; son, Gary; and brother, Peter.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will take place 11 a.m. Monday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
