MAHONEY, RUTH ELIZABETH - It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Mahoney of Oromocto, formerly of Gagetown, announce her death at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 at the age of 81. Born in Saint John, NB on March 29th, 1930 she was the wife of the late W. Lawrence Mahoney. Ruth leaves behind her children, Marlene (Robert) Jackson of Pine Falls, MB, Christine Mahoney of Oromocto, Eugene (Jackie) Mahoney of Gagetown, Karl (Paula) Mahoney of Bridgewater, NS, Mark (Janet) Mahoney of New Maryland, Goldie (Jeff) MacGillivray of Thunder Bay, ON, and Patrick (Christina) Mahoney of Bon Accord, AB; sister, Patricia (Bernard) Johnson of Panama City, FL; 16 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; son in law, Edward Gaffray of Pine Falls, MB; and aunt, Phyllis Fitzpatrick of Grand Bay - Westfield. In addition to her husband, Lawrence, Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Elizabeth (Childs) Goldie; daughter, Rosanne Gaffray; infant sister, Phyllis Jean; sister, Lois Sweet; and brothers, Joseph Goldie and Louis Goldie Jr.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Gagetown, on Wednesday, February 15th at 2 pm with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Interment will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery.
