Alice Hansen
HANSEN, ALICE FAYE - At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, February 3, 2012, Mrs. Alice Faye Hansen of New Denmark passed away on her 72nd birthday. She was predeceased by her husband, A. Paul Hansen, father-in-law, Arthur Hansen, brother-in-law, Stanley Copp. Born at Grand Falls in 1940, she was a daughter of the late Sigurd and Beatrice (Sorensen) Svendsen. Alice is survived by two children, Shelley Hansen-Everett (Allen) of Aroostook and Kendall (Margaret Beukeveld) of Fredericton, three grandchildren, Haley Everett, Lindsay Everett and Sunaa Hansen, one brother, Lloyd Svendsen (Sharon) of Fredericton, two sisters, Nathalie Copp of Tottenham, Ontario and Carol Hendricksen (Kevin) of New Denmark, mother-in-law, Iona Hansen of Burntland Brook, sister-in-law, Anna Johnston (Charles) of New Denmark, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Her funeral service was held Monday, February 6, 2012 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, New Denmark with Rev. Robert LeBlanc officiating. The organist was Sonja Petersen. Hymns selected were: "Whispering Hope", "In the Garden" and "Take my hand Precious Lord". In honour of her heritage, a Danish hymn was sung as well. Granddaughter Lindsay Everett played her guitar and sang an original song written for her "Bestamar". Readings were conducted by; Andrea Wells, Alisa Copp, Janet White, Joe Everett and Rev. Les Johnston. Pallbearers were Allen Everett, Kevin Hendricksen, Brian Hendricksen, Wayne Copp, Rick Sorensen and Rev. Les Johnston. Memorial donations were made to the A.L.S. Society of New Brunswick. Interment will take place in the spring. Arrangements were by O’Regan’s Funeral Home, Grand Falls. The family wishes to thank all those who provided condolences and support during this difficult time. It was greatly appreciated.
