HENRIETTA HILDA (Bernice) CHAMBERLIN

HENRIETTA HILDA (Bernice) CHAMBERLIN HENRIETTA HILDA (Bernice) CHAMBERLIN

March 18 , 1916 ~ February 6, 2012
February 6, 2012, a beautiful sunny day, Bernice ascended to heaven to join her sisters Dorothy Finch and Rita Peterson.
Our hearts are saddened by the loss of her presence but also filled with joy and pride at the thoughts of the role model she set for us. She was born March 18 , 1916 in Roberts Creek and spent most of her life on the Sunshine Coast. She was recognized for her accomplishments to Gibsons as their Golden Girl 1990. She was a founding member of the Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary, a charter member of the local SPCA, a tireless worker for the Gibsons Rural Centennial Committee which raised funds for the original Brothers Park, the area “E” ratepayers, the Howe Sound Farmers Institute, Harmony Hall ceramic group and the Gibsons Curling Club, to name a few. Many will remember her for the donations she made to local youth sports and local charities by selling the gladiolus and dahlias that she loved to grow on the farm on Reed Road. Her family will always remember her being there, cheering them on and offering her support.
Bernice leaves behind her best friend, her loving and devoted husband of 64 years Cecil; son Ted Carson (Darlene); daughters Dorothy Murray-Dixon, Lynda Chamberlin and Juanita Wannamaker (Ken); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters Violet Winegarden, Jean McKeating and Eileen Gratton; and brother Charles Husdon.
Many thanks to Dr. Lehman. No service by request. A Celebration of Life will be held later this spring.
We miss you and you will be forever in our hearts.
