It is with sadness we announce the death of Ruth (Butchie) Dooley, 93, which occurred at the Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s where she made her home since 2000; on Feb. 13, 2012.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John ‘Jack’ Mary ‘Min’ (Clarke) Dooley.
Ruth was a kind, gentle lady, quiet and reserved. In her younger days she enjoyed music especially strumming her guitar and playing the harmonica. Ruth enjoyed listening to amateur radio operators from around the world and made this one of her pastimes.
Ruth was the last surviving member of her family and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Marge Jennings, Vivian Romard-Sampson and her only brother, William Dooley.
There will be no visitation. Service for Ruth will be held at the Richmond Villa Chapel, St. Peter’s on Thursday, Feb. 23 2012, at 10:30 a.m.
We would like to thank the staff of Richmond Villa for their kindness to Ruth over the years and for the many people of the community who would always pop in to say hello and make her feel special.
