Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, St John’s on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 after a lengthy illness, Marie Shannahan in her 90th year, from Ferryland. Predeceased by her husband Joachim, her sons Robert, Fabian, Michael (small man), daughters Mary, Josephine, parents Hilary & Annie Paul, brothers John, Joe & Phonse. Leaving to mourn her memory her loving family of four sons: Hilary (Anna), John (Marion), Ben (Pauline) & Larry; four daughters: Gertie, Theresa (Frank), Madeline (Tony), Monica (Keith); 40 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren, & one great-great grandchild; one sister Kit; brothers: Phil (Pauline), Pete (Bride) & Jim, also many nieces, nephews & a large circle of relatives & friends. Remains resting at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse on Thursday & Friday, February 16th & 17th from 2-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Ferryland. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ferryland. Donations maybe made to St Patrick's Mercy Home or to a charity of one’s choice.
