It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brent Darwin Raymond Pasareno. After a courageous battle with cancer Brent passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2012. Brent is survived by his loving wife Rosemary, his daughters Lori (Dean) Pasareno-Wilson, Lonnie (Bob) Pasareno-Tate, Marla Pasareno, and Marcie Pasareno, his brother Bill (Iris) Pasareno, nephew Jayson and niece Alexandra Pasareno and nephew Conway (Linda) Yury. Brent was predeceased by his wife Bonnie Mulligan, his parents William and Georgina Pasareno, and his sisters Lila Yury and Ora Lee Pasareno.
Brent loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was born in Ste. Rose Dulac, Manitoba on July 23, 1941. The oldest of four children he began working at a young age with his father at the family sawmill. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to begin his own company. Brent owned and operated a successful road contracting business in Northern Saskatchewan for 20 years. His love of the north led Brent to explore the romance of the Klondike gold fields. Eventually Brent found the perfect balance, working a successful placer operation during the arctic summer and relaxing with friends in sunny Arizona in the winter. If Arizona was too hot, or the Yukon was too cold, Brent could be found along the shores of Okanogan Lake.
It was important for Brent to stay connected to family and friends. Brent could often be found with the local coffee crowd swapping tales of his adventures. A celebration of Brent’s life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 18th at the Pointe Club House 4074 Gellatly Road, West Bank Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M.S. Society of Kelowna or to Hospice House Kelowna. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Shepherd, the Vascular Surgeons in Kelowna, the Palliative Care Team in West Bank, the staff at Hospice House and in particular his caregiver Dylan for his compassion, companionship, and caring of Brent through this very difficult time.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.valleyviewfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements entrusted to Valleyview Funeral Home, Kelowna, BC 250-765-3147.
