LYONS, WENDA M. - Wenda M. Lyons, 89, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Dr. George and Maisie (Dickman) Lyons. Wenda was a former employee of the T. Eaton Co. Ltd. and attended St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of The Moncton Art Society, the Riverview Art Council and The Painting Friends. Wenda’s kind and generous spirit knew no bounds. Her selfless manner endeared her to all who knew her, whether family, friend or painting companion. Her gentle presence and reassuring ways will be deeply missed by a great number of people, who are left to “carry on” without her. Wenda will be sadly missed by her family, nephews, George Lyons (Claire) of Moncton and Peter Lyons (Debbie) of Delta, BC; nieces, Jennifer Wolf (Peter) and Anne McCormick (Peter), both of Halifax, NS; Antoni Burzynski and his family, Michael (Anne Marceau) of Rocky Harbour, NL, Susan (Paul Veroni), of Kentville, NS, Paul of Coquitlam, BC, Annemarie (Guy Plint) of London, ON, Mary of Ottawa, ON, John (Caroline Wilson) of Toronto, ON; her grand nieces and grand nephews from the Lyons and Burzynski families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Peter G. Lyons and his wife, Memo (Miriam) and by her dear cousin, Brenda Burzynski.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 3:00 pm, Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. Reception in the Parish Hall following the Mass. Interment, Shediac Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Greater Moncton Hospice / Du Grand Moncton Inc. or a memorial of the donor’s choice. Online condolences at
