DAVIS, RICKY (RICK) GUY JOSEPH - It is with the deepest sadness and sorrow that the family announces the unexpected passing of Ricky (Rick) Guy Joseph Davis of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Richibucto, NB, husband of Christelle Léger, which occurred on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on December 2, 1967 in Moncton, NB, he was the son of Ernest and Rita (Cormier) Davis. Rick was a loving husband and devoted father, who honoured his family and everybody around him. Rick was a well-known and respected businessman; being the owner of the Fredericton Home Hardware, on Fredericton's northside, he was always eager to please his customers. Rick was also a fan of hockey, playing on the Miller Tire Gentlemen’s Hockey Team and avidly following professional hockey. He was a member of the Main Street Business Association, and a past member of the Fredericton Rotary Club. In addition to his parents and wife, Rick is survived by his children, Isaac and Emma Léger Davis; sisters, Carol Davis (Mark Vautour) of Richibucto, NB, Janice Davis (Jacques Mills) of Bouctouche, NB and Rachelle Davis (Barry Francis) of Aldouane, NB; nieces and nephews, Zackary and Matthew Davis Vautour, Janelle Mills, Lucas and Hailey Francis, Mélanie and Mireille Léger Casas.
Visitations will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 7 to 9 pm; visitation will then be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 33 Acadia, Richibucto, NB on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral mass will take place at St.-Louis-de-Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto, NB on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 4 pm with Father Robert Allain as celebrant. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton Food Bank or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
