Muriel was born in Smithers, BC on April 10, 1921 and went to greet the Lord on February 17, 2012. She was the fourth of 10 children to Cole and Jo Mutch.

She is survived by her two daughters Vesta-Jo Christy (Bill) and Bobby Glubis. Muriel has eleven great grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren and also two brothers, George Mutch, Jack Mutch and brother-in-law Don Kidd.

She was predeceased by her five sisters Orline, Margaret, Helen, Millie, Mona, brothers Bob and Billy, two grandsons Raymond and Norman and two great great-granddaughters.

Muriel spent many years working as a cook and waitress in mining camps throughout BC. She also spent some years in Peru where she learned Spanish and always had many stories to tell about her adventures there. She returned to Vancouver where she lived, until she relocated to Merritt 15 years ago to be closer to her grandson Ken, and then Kamloops right after that. Muriel moved to Kamloops, to live with her granddaughter Mia. She made many friends here and loved to visit with them. She was an avid fan of crosswords, card games and loved to knit and crochet. She loved to watch baseball because she went to many baseball games with her family. Muriel also enjoyed her Tuesday night dinners out with her family. She spent the last four years at Cariboo Manor directing the residents there. She loved being put in charge!

A Celebration of her life will be held at Cariboo Manor, 831 Serle Rd. Kamloops, BC on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.

We want to thank all the staff and friends from Cariboo Manor who were a part of her life to the end.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cariboo Manor Society.
