The death occurred at South Shore Villa, Crapaud, in the company of his wife and family, on the date of their 65th Wedding Anniversary on June 30, 2008, of Spencer Hughes, aged 90 years. Born on July 31, 1917, Spencer was a son of the late Joseph Patrick Hughes and the late Frances Ann (Green) Hughes. Beloved husband of Eileen (Greenan) Hughes. Father of Mary (Frank) Dickson of Toronto, Ont.; Brendan (Kathy) Hughes, Toronto, Ont.; Peter (Helen) Hughes, Trenton, Ont.; John (Sandy) Hughes, Rice Point and Charles (Cathy) Hughes, Markham, Ont. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by infant sons, Edwin and Francis and daughter-in-law, Linda. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora, with funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, July 2, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m. only. Donations in Spencer's memory may be made to St. Malachy's Parish Cemetery Fund.
