HUBBARD, Catherine Maureen “Cathy” – 54, resident of the Nakile Home for Special Care, passed away at Nakile on February 16, 2012. She was born in Yarmouth on July 21, 1957, and was the daughter of Wallace and Maureen (Grattan) Hubbard. Cathy was a past president of the Nova Scotia Multiple Sclerosis Society for many years. She worked with her dad at Imperial Optical and also at YACRO. She is survived by her sisters, Linda (John) Robicheau, Halifax; Lori (Steve) Hahn, Pictou; nephews, Michael, Blair and Jason; and niece, Nicole. Funeral arrangements had been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Sunday, February 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Service was held Monday, February 20, 2012 at St. Ambrose Cathedral at 11 a.m., Father John Macpherson officiated. Burial in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. Donations in memory may be made to Nakile Home for Special Care or the Tri County V.O.N.
