DESAUTELS - Lucienne Amanda (nee Larose) passed away peacefully at Bethany CollegeSide, Red Deer on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Lucienne was born March 25, 1921 at St. Henri De Lévis, Quebec. She was one of fifteen children born to Année and Pierre Larose. In August, 1929 the family moved to McCord, Saskatchewan. Lucienne was later united in marriage to Robert Desautels on July 6, 1943, and together they settled and farmed in Dollard, Saskatchewan from 1946 until 1972, where they proudly raised ten children. In 1983, Lucienne and Robert retired and moved to Winfield, B.C. where Lucienne enjoyed her garden, flowers, and playing host to her many children and cherished grandchildren. After Robert passed away on November 5, 1994, Lucienne relocated to Lacombe, Alberta to be closer to her children. In Lacombe she became very involved with the Senior's Drop-in Centre (Kozy Korner), and enjoyed playing cards with many of her lady friends. Lucienne was also an active member of the C.W.L., as well as the Royal Canadian Legion throughout her life. Lucienne will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children: Raymond (Dawn) Desautels; Gerald (Brad) Desautels; Hector (Judi) Desautels; Diane (Les) Kroetsch; Suzanne Vokey; Jeanne (Randy) Dempster; Jeannine (David) Siebold; Paul (Wanda) Desautels; Donald (Heather) Desautels; and Lilliane (Walter) Hill; as well as her grandchildren: Todd, Trevor, Kristin, Naomi, Sacha, Sherri, Amber, Meaghan, Danielle, Jason, Damian, Kathleen, Gabriel, Monique, Logan, Tosha, Kerri, Nicole, Derian, Shelbie, Christapher, and Travis; her great grandchildren: Kelsey, Cherron, Evangeline, Alexander, McKenzie, Isaiah, Zarah, Brittany, Brianna, Dawson, Thane, Cailyn, Wyatt, Shaughnessy, Adalynn, Macy, Fischer, and Brock; and her great, great grandchild, Cyrus. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by nine brothers and sisters: Marie-Anna, Adrien, Fernande, Irene, Jean-Paul, Henri, Pauline, Julie, and Alice; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Lucienne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert; two granddaughters, Amy Hill and Tammy Kroetsch; and six brothers and sisters: Arthur, Yvonne, Jules, Rose-Alda, Florida, and Noëla. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Father Martin Carroll, Celebrant. Interment of Cremated Remains will take place at a later date in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winfield, B.C.
