Susan Buchanan (nee Penny) passed away peacefully on February 18, 2012 at the Billings Court Manor in Burlington, ON, in her 82nd year.
Devoted and loving wife of the late Thomas Edward Buchanan (2006); caring mother of Judy, husband Ron McDonald, and Brenda Ann Buchanan; grandmother of Paul McDonald and Andrea, husband Zandro Chan; and great-grandmother of Asher and Ryder Chan.
Susan, who was born in Birch Grove, will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her siblings Mary Cole, Gill and David Penny of Glace Bay, NS; Ethel White of Cambridge, ON; and George and Wayne Penny of Halifax, NS; as well as many family and friends around the world.
A funeral service was held for Susan at the Ward Funeral Home in Oakville, ON, on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. It was a loving tribute to a special woman who brightened the lives of many with her love and humour.
As per Susan's wishes, Brenda Ann, Judy and family, will bring her ashes to Cape Breton this summer where she'll rest with their Dad at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Glace Bay, NS.
