MacNeil, Elizabeth Frances. 88 of the Valley View Villa, Riverton formerly of Hillside, Pictou County passed away March 1, 2012 in the villa.
Born in Stellarton she was a daughter of the late John and Henrietta (Strathie) Taylor.
Elizabeth lived her early years in Stellarton. After her marriage, she resided in various parts of Canada while her late husband served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Upon his retirement, they returned to Stellarton before moving to Hillside in 1984 and residing there til 2005. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Trenton. In all seasons, mom found beauty and busyness whether camping, beach walking, raking leaves, shovelling snow, enjoying her beautiful flower gardens, sewing and crocheting. Her passion was her family.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by a daughter Colleen (Allister) MacDonald, Hillside; Michael (Samantha), Haley, Dominic, Caden, Mary-Beth (Stefan) Atzema, Keiran Atzema; a son, Allison (Lorraine), Stellarton; Craig, Brea, Emily, Katherine, Colin; a daughter Jane Gauthier, Trenton.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael MacNeil and her brothers.
Her remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday. Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday from the Church of the Nazarene, Trenton with Pastor Leon Teal presiding. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Gideon Bibles or to a charity of one’s choice.
