William "Dawson" Ripley

Ripley, William “Dawson”, 86, Truro, passed away peacefully, March 2, 2012 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Athol, Cumberland County he was the son of the late William and Estella (Johnson) Ripley and was the last surviving member of his family. Dawson spent his life working for the CNR as a Telegraph Operator. He was a dedicated member of the Cobequid Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a humble individual who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Annie “Lavinia”; niece, Charlene (Garth) Palmer; nephew, John (Gina) Stewart. Dawson was predeceased by sisters, Amy, Ruth and Shirley. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m., all on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Greg MacDonald officiating. Interment in the spring in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cobequid Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 183 Waller St., Truro.
