Florence Theresa Walker
Florence Theresa Walker passed away March 1, 2012, in peace with her loving family by her side, in Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta.
Born in Inverness on January 13, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Mary Chisholm and the late Danny MacDonald.
Florence was predeceased by her late husband, Hugh Francis Sr. “Pooie” Walker. She was also a mother to Hugh Francis Jr. (Amanda); and grandson, Jacob Walker of Sherwood Park, Alta.
She was a devoted wife and mother and worked in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital for 20 years. Florence had a great love for children, Scotch music and a good game of cards. Florence will be remembered for her friendliness, kindness, wit and love for all her knew her.
Florence is survived by siblings: Betty (James) MacKay, Malcolm (Beverly) MacDonald, Doddie (George) Day, Lauretta (Late Miller) MacPherson, Delinah (late Orlando) De-Silvia, Larry (Lynn) MacDonald, Ronald MacDonald, Gerald (Brenda) MacDonald, Bill (Sheila) MacDonald, Daniel (Dawn) MacDonald; uncle, Billy MacDonald (West Bay Rd) and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brother, Jimmy (Clara).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2012 in Inverness Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 8 at 11 a.m., in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Stella Maris Building Fund, Inverness or to Central Inverness Palliative Care society.
